MEET LIESELOTTE

Introduce yourself and what you do in a few sentences?

Hi there! My name is Lieselotte, aka Lilo, and I started in 2020 at The Dot Society as one of the first Digital Business Consultants. As a true Dotter, being driven, ambitious and positive-minded are just a few core elements of our DNA ;-)
My analytical background (having studied Business Engineering or “Handelsingenieur”) together with a strong passion for all things digital, led me to the perfect job!

What do you like about working at The Dot Society?

Whether it’s the fun lunches with my awesome colleagues, the fact that we’re one solid team that shares the same passion and values or that basically every day is a different challenge in a fast-moving world. But, I must say, the direct impact you realize every day for your clients is what satisfies me the most.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

Having a good workout is definitely my go-to activity after a long day. Going to the gym  for a good sweat sesh or playing padel are my favourite ones. Next to that, I can enjoy a short run or an intensive swim session.
I don’t only work-out because I like it and it gives me energy, but it also makes sure I can keep up with my other favourite activity: eating :-) I will never say no to a nice and cosy family dinner or a heavenly take-out meal whilst bingeing my favourite Netflix shows.

THIS or THAT?

Favourite quote

“Eerst zweten, dan vreten”. Yup, you guessed it, my two favourite things combined: sports & food. Next to that, I will never forget the famous words the power lady Michelle Obama once said: “When they go low, we go high.” For me, this is exactly what keeps me motivated on hard days. Let others say or do what they want, use criticism as a way to prove them wrong and most important: never give up on something you truly believe in!

Who has influenced you the most when it comes to how you approach your work?

Definitely my parents! They probably don’t know this, but I massively look up to them. How they managed to raise a big family in addition to a hard-working life as self-employers is beyond me. These people taught me the most important values in life: always work hard, give it your absolute best, but do it with passion or not at all. Never forget who you are, what you want and most of all: who the people are close to you. Because what is success if you can’t share it with anyone else? Keeping this in mind, I always make sure that my work-life balance is truly respected.
