MEET CELINE

Introduce yourself and what you do in a few sentences?

Hi, I’m Céline, one of the founders of The Dot Society. As a true economist at heart, I always had a profound interest in companies and their business model. What made some businesses grow and make a lot of money and some businesses just failed to grow. This combined with my passion for fashion and lifestyle brands and the rise of e-commerce has led us to start The Dot Society 5 years ago. Today I feel very privileged to work with such amazing clients and such a talented team around me.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?

Eat the frogs first. I see you wondering what the *** are the frogs? Now we all know those super annoying and boring tasks, the ones you keep putting off when you have the chance to do something different instead. Oh yeah – those tasks. When you put them on your schedule by the end of the day, you probably won’t feel like doing them and postpone them again till the next day. Try to shift this mentality by putting them on your schedule first thing in the morning, your energy level is the highest here. And guess how you’ll conquer the rest of the day if you manage to finish the most annoying tasks already?

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

This might sound quite nerdy but I simply get enthusiastic about KPI’s and analyzing data. There’s nothing I love more than deep-diving a bit into data and to be able to draw actionable conclusions out of it.

Next to that, I’m a true efficiency freak as I want to accomplish a lot in life (professional but also on a personal level). So I’m always looking for ways to optimize processes/things, spend less time on things I hate to do in order to be able to spend more time on things I actually love to do.

THIS or THAT?

Must-read book?

Miracle morning talks about the basic principle that just by devoting a few minutes in the morning to define your goals of that day and take some time for yourself to clear your head and exercise, you’ll see your life getting somewhere you’d like to be before you know it. Definitely a must-read for everyone especially for the ones having difficulties rolling out of bed in the morning ;-).

Greatest life lesson someone ever told you?

Everyone falls into the comparison trap from time to time, while doing business it’s healthy to compare yourself with the competition however it cannot be your main focus point. My dad once told me the only thing I should focus on is myself, this brought me way further than I could ever imagined. Focus is of underestimated importance when it comes to achieving the things you want in life.
