MEET AIMEE
Introduce yourself and what you do in a few sentences?
Hi there! My name is Aimée Storm and I have been a real ‘Dotter’ since March 2023. I consider myself optimistic, empathetic and ambitious. Due to my dual nationality (Dutch and Belgian), I completed my studies in both countries. At first, the international bachelor media and communication at the University of Rotterdam, after which I completed two master studies at the University of Antwerp: (1) strategic communication & (2) management and organization. The common thread running through these studies? Strategy, media, communication, brand management and operations.
To give a little bit more information about myself, I always try to lend an ear for teammates where necessary. I combine this with telling jokes, laughing and lots of stories during lunch! In addition, I like to be “misses worldwide” (Pitbull voice). I love to travel, learn about cultures and taste food all over the world!
How did you end up at The Dot?
Considering I was interested in marketing, creativity, and communication as well as data, economic models and strategic management, I looked for a company that offered both. I didn’t know this existed until I joined The Dot! After graduating from the master’s in management and organization, I was looking for work starting in February. Counting back a bit, on February 17 I forwarded my resume and cover letter and on March 17 I got THE phone call: you are a Dotter!
The fact that the Dot team is packed with ambitious women did not scare me off, quite the contrary! Working with experienced business consultants who have a heart for strong brands is a dream come true for me. In addition, the team makes every effort to get to know each other, for instance: there are a lot of teambuildings planned every year, towards which I am looking forward!
What did you want to be when you were young?
Every girl wanted to be a princess and every boy wanted to be a fireman. However, little Aimée had a different idea about this. What do you want to be when you grow up? Grandma! To me, grandma seemed like a nice “profession” given that you can always be together with your family, surrounded by good food. Now I would pick ‘Dotter’ of course. However, in 2005 I didn’t know what a Dotter was so I just chose what seemed the cozy to me.
THIS or THAT?
What’s your favourite way to relax after a busy day?
Surrounding myself with people I love is one of my favorite things to do. In addition, I have had a passion for cooking since childhood. This passion was so great that I wanted to participate in a cooking series for kids (komen eten kids), unfortunately there was no second episode and I was not able to make my move. Besides cooking, I love a good book and aim to relax more without a screen. Although, sometimes Netflix series can also charm me, then I love being on the couch with a cup of tea. I am also a real cat person, you either hate it or love it. Ultimate relaxation in my opinion comes with the love of an animal, preferably a kitten!
Guilty pleasure
