MEET JILL

Introduce yourself and what you do in a few sentences?

Hi! My name is Jill Geens and I would describe myself as a driven, caring and resilient person.

Before joining The Dot Society in February 2024, I obtained two Master’s degrees in both Finance & Risk Management and Fashion Buying & Merchandising. For my fashion master I lived in Paris for 15 months, which was safe to say the best year of my life so far. I fell in love with the city due to its architecture, restaurants and diversity. And obviously, living in a fashion capital is the best thing ever 😉

My only real working experience were internships: I worked as a Private Banker and as a Merchandiser for A.P.C. in Paris. I’m thrilled to call myself a real dotter right now and excited for what the future holds!

What led you to The Dot Society?

For me The Dot Society is the perfect combination of my two passions: fashion  and business. I think working with companies in fashion, lifestyle and interior design, which closely align with my personal interests, is key! As a consultant you grow with your clients for the long term and act as the driving factor by lifting their digital strategy to the next level. To be surrounded by ambitious and hardworking women is just the cherry on top.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

For me, family and friends are very important. I love discovering new restaurants or bars with my loved ones. Besides that, dancing is my favourite way to clear my head. My preferred dance styles are heels and jazz. I love travelling and photography. In fact, I prefer to have a busy weekend filled with city strolls, dinner dates and obviously, some shopping.

THIS or THAT?

What is your favourite fashion trend of FW24?

I’m totally obsessed with the ‘pop of red’ trend. I think it’s such a versatile trend, which can be incorporated into your outfit in so many ways: a red sock, shoe or scarf. Red matches with lots of colourways, my personal favourite: grey!

Greatest life lesson someone ever told you?

My parents have been my biggest source of inspiration in terms of determination, discipline and hard work. They set the example for me that if you want to achieve something, you have to work for it. I admire this mindset and aspire to apply this to every aspect in life.
