MEET LIEN

Introduce yourself and what you do in a few sentences.

Hey hey, my name is Lien! I’m 25 years old and have been working at The Dot Society as a Digital Creative since November 2025. After an interesting study in Orthopedagogie, I felt I was lacking creativity in my studies and future job, so I started studying Graphic Design at Sint Lucas in Antwerp. Afterward, I earned a Master’s degree in Visual Arts at the same school. While this was a fun and educational year, I realised that applied work within graphic design is more my thing, and that’s how I ended up at The Dot Society! I was also a dance teacher for a long time (something I’d like to pick up again in the future), I run, I enjoy listening to music, and I enjoy being creative (bookbinding, drawing, jewelry design, etc.).

How do you prefer to start your day?

I love starting my day slowly with a cup of coffee! I’d rather get up an hour earlier to start my day at ease than to have to rush. An early morning workout always does me good too.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Running, dancing, listening to music, reading a book, spending time in nature, traveling, watching my current series, but most of all: quality time with my friends!

Ultimate feel-good song?

Soooo many options, it’s hard to choose! But if I had to, I’d say Oysters In My Pocket by Royel Otis. It makes me happy every time. But since I can’t choose, here are a few more songs that instantly make me happy (oops): Losing My Religion by R.E.M., Dracula by Tame Impala, Edge of the Earth by The Beaches, and Just Like Heaven by The Cure (and as a guilty pleasure: Mirrors by Justin Timberlake).

Greatest life lesson someone ever told you?

Don’t take life too seriously. As someone who thinks a lot, I can sometimes get lost in my thoughts. Then I remind myself that life is short, we should enjoy it, and above all, do what feels right!
